What's Happening In Your Neighborhood Parks

The City of El Segundo's Department of Recreation & Parks strives to maintain the best parks and open spaces in the area. In this pursuit, several of our parks are undergoing improvements. Please check back to here for regular updates and progress reports on these and future parks projects.

Washington Park & Acacia Park

Construction at Washington Park for the new playground has begun. Additionally, the construction documents are currently being prepared for the Acacia Park Project, that is slated for construction in summer 2020. With the completion of these playgrounds, all playgrounds within the El Segundo parks will be ADA compliant.

Campus El Segundo

The shade canopies at Campus El Segundo have been installed. Thanks to the generosity of AYSO Region 92, this recreation amenity has been enhanced to provide more comfort to the athletes and spectators of this heavily utilized facility.

Pickleball Courts

The Pickleball Courts at Recreation Park are now permanent and bustling. El Segundo’s Pickleball Ambassadors hosted Jinglefest!, an event to showcase the new courts and show appreciation to the City for investing in the fastest growing sport in America. The event featured instructional skills clinics, collected donations for CASE, held a demonstration match between high level players and a brief ceremony dedicating the courts. The Department will be offering leagues, clinics, group lessons and tournaments in 2020.
